Brand Identity for Natural Farming
Natural Farming Co. received naming, visual identity system, and brand guidelines that unified the organization's educational programs, community-building efforts, and product line under a cohesive brand communicating both radical agricultural transformation and warm community welcome.
The Challenge
Natural Farming Co. was building a generative community around transforming agriculture away from chemical dependence. "Natural Farming Co." didn't capture their mission's scope or differentiate them in a crowded market. The brand needed to unite educational programs, community building, and product lines while communicating systems change to audiences spanning large-scale farmers to hobby gardeners.
The Solution
The "Biomei" name carries multiple cultural meanings connecting to beauty, sprouting life, and renewal, speaking directly to Korean Natural Farming's foundation in indigenous micro-organisms. A hand-cut paper logo depicts roots breaking through a circle, representing radical change. The brand system includes an earthy color palette with an energizing salmon accent, and a complete cut-paper graphic system extending across all applications.

  • Logo Development & Visual Language
    I created the logo by hand, cutting and tearing paper—a circle broken into pieces and rearranged into the shape of roots spreading outward. This physical process mirrors how you work soil with your hands, creating an authentic connection to farming practice. After scanning, I converted it to vector and added texture suggesting life in healthy soil. I developed multiple logo variations including lockups, stacked configurations, standalone mark and wordmark, versions with the tagline "Natural Farming Solutions," and submarks for specific programs.
